Our Wedding

We met during our sophomore year of high school. Our friend circles overlapped, but we weren’t exactly friends yet. By junior year, our groups had merged, and somehow we ended up sitting next to each other at lunch every day. According to Deivi, that made us friends. Naomi was not so sure.Gradually, the noise of the group faded, and we found ourselves talking more, just the two of us.It did not take long to notice our differences. One of the biggest was that Deivi had never seen the Twilight movies. Naomi invited him over one Friday to watch, but we did not even make it ten minutes into the movie before we were deep in conversation about everything and anything. That Friday became a tradition.Over time, we went to prom together, graduated, and what began as friendship slowly grew into something more. On July 5th, 2015, we made it official.Two months later, we faced our first long-distance challenge while Naomi went to college in Miami. When she returned home, we navigated the chaos of 2020 to 2024 together, celebrating wins, supporting each other through losses, and sharing countless laughs.Through it all, we have been each other’s constant, someone to lean on, to laugh with, and to love. When the big question about forever came, the answer was clear. Yes.

From Friendship to Forever

Nos conocimos durante nuestro segundo año de preparatoria. Nuestras amistades se cruzaban, pero aún no éramos realmente amigos. Para el tercer año, nuestros grupos se unieron, y de alguna manera terminamos sentándonos juntos todos los días en el almuerzo. Según Deivi, eso nos convirtió en amigos. Naomi no estaba tan segura.Poco a poco, el ruido del grupo desapareció, y nos encontramos hablando más, solo los dos.No tardamos en notar nuestras diferencias. Una de las más grandes era que Deivi nunca había visto las películas de Twilight. Naomi lo invitó un viernes para ver la película, pero ni siquiera habían pasado diez minutos cuando estábamos profundamente concentrados en una conversación sobre todo y nada. Ese viernes se convirtió en una tradición.Con el tiempo, fuimos juntos al baile de graduación, nos graduamos, y lo que empezó como amistad poco a poco se convirtió en algo más. El 5 de julio de 2015, lo hicimos oficial.Dos meses después, enfrentamos nuestro primer desafío a distancia mientras Naomi estudiaba en Miami. Cuando regresó a casa, navegamos juntos por los altibajos de 2020 a 2024, celebrando logros, apoyándonos en las pérdidas y compartiendo innumerables risas.A lo largo de todo, hemos sido la constante del otro, alguien en quien apoyarse, reír y amar. Cuando llegó la gran pregunta sobre el “para siempre”, la respuesta fue clara. Sí.
